Poster Re Done
In order to make this poster even better I lightened up the graphic behind the lettering. I also moved the guys toward the center so that way they don't look like they were pushed aside. I also tried looking for different pictures of the guys but nothing looked as good as the original picture that I have here.

My Roughs
This one represents a lot about who I am today.
This one has the most meaning, it represents how my love for music as well as Huskies and YouTube kept me going through my depression.
This one shows how I am now and how I look at life.

My Poster
In this poster I wanted to get across the way that this movie blends both religion with the moral fight between violence and peace. I also used the grey tones to show that the movie is also rugged. Hope you guys like it!

Helvetica Response
After watching Helvetica, I have a whole new outlook on the art of typography. I had no clue that people actually had teams working on type and it was so interesting to hear what they had to stay about Helvetica. I also had no idea how important things like spacing, arch angles, and even little line widths could make or break a type. I also love how versatile Helvetica is and to see how hard they worked on making it that versatile is amazing and something that I would really like to get my hands on. One of the even more interesting points for me were the way that the lines work together, for example, the straight lines being next to the curves and the baseline and how important it is was really cool and it made sense. This documentary makes me think about type, not as just words, but as an art form.
The history of it is also really cool, how it reflected what people needed to feel, that everything was going to be okay and that we can rebuild after the war. It also allows the content to shine and not the type, that was the biggest part because as I design for this class I always struggle with the colors and fonts battling with each other, thus making the eye hurt. I understand it a little bit more with this documentary because they discuss the way everything flows. I also like the feeling that it invokes and the way that the government and corporations use it. It is very interesting how the mind technically doesn't read, it follows the shape, which is why I understand that CAPS DON'T WORK. Ha ha, typography joke. All in all I loved it and thanks for showing it to me professor, will definitely be looking into typography as a career path.

My New Logo
The logo that I chose was the Hard Rock Cafe logo. I chose this because it offered the most challenges to me in the aspect of the fact that the logo is basically a household logo. It was also something that I love, the Hard Rock Cafe is one of the rare restaurant chains to keep classic rock alive. The original logo had no indication of rock so I put in a nice speaker and a electric guitar. The logo also had a neon aspect that I liked so I made the background a neon yellow. I also used basic font because I wanted to make sure that the emblem wouldn't look too over crowded.

My Logo Ideas
The first logos that I have wanted to re design is the Apple Safari logo. If I am going to do this logo I will have a safari hat with the Apple logo on it to show that it is for the Apple engine. I might also put in a cursor to indicate that it is the icon to click on for the internet. Another logo that I am thinking of doing is the McDonalds logo. Since the golden arches are iconic I will keep them in, however I am going to put a little twist on the design, I am thinking about putting the original burger man that was the first mascot for McDonalds under the golden arches, I also want to do the logo in a different font because I think I can make the name pop out more. My final logo that I want to re design is the Hard Rock Cafe logo. This one is going to be the most likely out of the three. The first thing that I am going to change is the dimension of the font. I am going to make it three dimensional so that it will pop out more to the eye. The next thing that I am going to do is add in some guitars in the background, because one of the most important instruments in rock music is the guitar. I am then going to make the background of all of it have some nice finish work like flames or a microphone. This is what I am thinking about doing for these logos.
